MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, BANDUNG—Chair of the Muhammadiyah Council for Library and Information Muchlas Arkanuddin said a digital disruptor refers to individuals or groups who aggressively influence and dominate discourses on the internet.
“There are several stages, and being a digital disruptor is the highest one. To reach it, Muhammadiyah has to utilize technology and the newest da’wah activity styles to reach da’wah targets,” Muchlas said in a discussion conducted by the Regional Board of ‘Aisyiyah of East Java on Sunday (19/9).
Muhammadiyah should be aware that da’wah and feedback from other people so that this movement can remain consistent to innovate. “We can deal with the digital disruption through doing digital transformation which will gradually lead to be the digital disruptor,” the Rector of Universitas Ahmad Dahlan said.
Besides, Muhammadiyah has to improve literacy and digital literacy in all Muhammadiyah levels to raise confidence about the digital potential, human resources, information technology, and finance.
The technology and information expert mentioned Muhammadiyah should raise the spirit of the convergence of Muhammadiyah digital products, build productive synergy with all elements, lift hyper-awareness, make clear and firm decisions, and implement policies quickly. “Having 168 Muhammadiyah and ‘Aisyiyah higher education institutions is more than enough to support this movement’s digitalization to play roles as a digital disruptor,” Muchlas said.
