MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, YOGYAKARTA – All Muhammadiyah charity and service units and networks possess professional management and human resources with spirit of Al-Qur’an, particularly Al-Ma’un. They have vivid concepts and take real actions to develop Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and social economy programs.
“It is in line with New Economic Policy of President Joko Widodo based on Social Justice for all the people of Indonesia,” declared Secretary of Muhammadiyah Agung Danarto in a press conference of Muhammadiyah on Tuesday (22/12).
Muhammadiyah encourages all elements of this nation, particularly ones who have economic-political power and access, to go hand in hand to empower the SMEs to achieve the social justice.
With ebullience of the Unity of Indonesia, we believe that Indonesia will become a developed country and can achieve goals of this nation as mentioned on Preamble of the 1945 Constitution.
Meanwhile, regarding an establishment of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), Agung Danarto stated that a merger of three sharia banks administered by government is entirely the governmental policy decided based on a comprehensive and in-depth study.
“All leaders of Muhammadiyah and Muhammadiyah charity and service unity will obey policy of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah. The board will issue technical instructions on Muhammadiyah funds saved on the three banks and how the funds will be saved after the merger,” asserted Agung.
Indeed, the merger is nothing to do with significance of funds of any parties, but it deals with demands of public accountability for BSI as a state-owned enterprise collecting funds from public and distributing them to improve people’s standard of living as mentioned on the constitution.
