MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, JAKARTA – Suspicion and misunderstanding among believers often emerge due to lack of communication and silaturahmi (maintaining relationships).
“If we don’t talk, we’ll be suspicious of one another. Regardless differences, we can create unity if we communicate,” declared General Secretary of Muhammadiyah Abdul Mu’ti on Sunday (2/5).
His meeting with them proved that the stereotype wasn’t true.
“How can Muslims get along? We cannot live in harmony because we rarely meet. The meeting should regularly be conducted by socio-religious organizations. If we’re rather stiff, the communication will be hard,” he conveyed.
According to Abdul Mu’ti, the absence of communication will create gaps among the groups and they’ll try to show off their own difference.
Thus, he advised all Muhammadiyah elements to be open-minded, keep silaturahim and communication with all groups of people, and persuaded by rhetoric.
“Focus on the manhaj. If we can create great branding, Insya Allah we can be a movement which is not only bil-gaul (giving rhetoric) but also taking actions,” conveyed Abdul Mu’ti.
