MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, SURABAYA – Students of SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Pucang Surabaya created “SAJANA” (an anti-corona prayer rug) to ease Muslims to pray during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The rug is commonly soft, but it has high risks to transmit the COVID-19.
The SAJANA was made from plastic that bacteria and viruses are easily to clean by spraying or wiping it with disinfectant.
A teacher of a Handicraft subject at SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Pucang Surabaya Wardatul Ummah informed that the rug color won’t fade because it uses particular paint.
“When the rug is sprayed with either disinfectant or water,” she stated on a press release on Wednesday (14/4).
The 60×120-cm colorful plastic rug was made by students. They add various painting motifs so that it looks more catching.
Besides, at the bottom right of the SAJANA, it’s written “Sesudah Sholat, Semprot/Dilap Disinfektan” (After Praying, Spray/Wipe with Disinfectant) or “Ayo Pakai Masker, Cuci Tangan Pakai Sabun dan Jaga Jarak Sosial) “Let’s Wear a Mask, Wash Hands with Soap and Keep Social Distancing”.
Then, all the products will be marketed on teachers’ and students’ social media. They expected that the SAJANA can be salable during this Ramadan an Eid al-Fitr.
