MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, JAKARTA – Buddha Tzu Chi distributed 62 tons or 62 thousand food packages through Muhammadiyah on Wednesday (5/5).
Officially received by General Secretary of Muhammadiyah Abdul Mu’ti, the packages were allotted to people in Bekasi, Bogor, and South Tangerang.
A volunteer of the Buddha Tzu Chi Tawang Sotya Djati told that the foundation chose Muhammadiyah since the movement has broad access to community.
“We have also seen Muhammadiyah performing great social activities. Therefore, we hope this collaboration can run well,” he stated.
“Working with Muhammadiyah, may this program raise our awareness about helping society. Rice has an expiry date, but warmth and love will always be within us,” he expressed.
Besides, Abdul Mu’ti thanked the Buddha Tzu Chi for the aids, and considered what they did had a strong message to promote diversity.
“The aids present how Indonesia with all differences has strong brotherhood,” deemed Mu’ti.
“The aids show how we help one another. I think that other organizations should do similar actions so that we can maintain our unity,” he declared.
