MUHAMMADIYAH.OR.ID, MALANG – An Indonesian anthologist Moeslim Abdurrahman said K.H. Ahmad Dahlan was a ‘social prophet’ bringing changes in community.
A Muhammadiyah scholar Pradana Boy explained the ‘social prophet’ is different from ‘the theological prophet.’ The social prophet refers to a person who has intellectual, social, and dialectical intelligence.
It’s difficult to find a figure as Ahmad Dahlan in Indonesia. Kang Muslim called Ahmad Dahlan the social prophet because he could answer issues (tahayul, bidah, churafat – TBC) in community.
Ahmad Dahlan’s intelligence enabled him to discover signs of time.
“Kang Muslim always tells us Al-Qu’ran interprets signs of time. Thus, getting back to Al-Qur’an and reciting it, it’s not merely understanding its literal meanings,” Boy said on his YouTube broadcast on Monday (19/7).
Muslims believe reciting Al-Qur’an is about not only grasping a religious holy book but also obtaining bases, guidance, and paradigms to know signs of time. Having interaction with Al-Qur’an enables people to get a lot of inspiration.
“It may sound mystical and spiritual, but it’s true,” he said.
Surah Al-Maun inspired Kiai Dahlan to make breakthroughs by establish social services which exist until now. Therefore, Muhammadiyah scholars are expected to recognize reality in community through dialectical quranic approaches.
